90

Arthur C. Clarke, arguably the greatest sci-fi author of all time, has reportedly passed away. He had just turned 90 years old. There aren't many details -- indeed, the AP article is one sentence long -- but it's something fans had seen coming for awhile. Clarke is famous for penning the 2001 series of books, and love by geeks for inventing the concept of the communications satellite. Thanks, sir, for the good reads.

Great shame. What an imagination - even to decide to live in Sri Lanka for much of his life. Not many writers have the courage to move that far away from publishers, readers and reviewers....

How sad, however he did have a long life and wrote many good books.

Good to hear from you, Noel ! Hope things are not too bad.

I was feeling sorry for us, not him - would that most of us could have a life like that.
